I can't do that with my machine, I have to do punch lace or else transfer all the stitches manually but it looks so much easier on your machine. I enjoyed your video - I hope you'll be making some more.
This is great! Thanks so much for sharing this video. I have a lace carriage for a studio machine which I have been putting off cleaning & using because I really did not know how to work it. Now, I have seen enough to give it a shot :-)
I'm so happy you made this video Monique! I've been trying to inspire my friend to knit lace on her Elna 2400 and she tells me that you're video has given her the courage to give it a go. I knit lace on all of my machines, Brother KH820 and Toyota SK858 both use a seperate transfer carriage, my Toyota KS950 is my favorite to use, it works the same way your carriage does, but instead of a seperate carriage, we have attachments that make the transfers that we simply add to our regular carriage to knit the lace the same way your lace carriage knits.
I have some punchcards that were written for your carriage and the symbols are different than on my Toyota 950 cards so I haven't been able to figure out how many transfer passes to make with the yarn out of the feeder before I do my 2 knit rows. It's a different language I guess, maybe I'll have to see if I can pick your brain via a regular email as this is turning into a very long comment, I just wanted you to know that your video is wonderful.
Mo ... I have been machine knitting for over 25 years and I have NEVER attempted lace. Your video was SO helpful in removing the fear (of failure!) that I can't wait until the weekend comes and I can have a go at it!! Thank you so much (you SHOULD make more videos - and make a living from it!) Terri
That was a great video! I've been thinking about a knitting machine, but I no idea where I can go to learn how to use one. Plus, it seems a little intimidating. The lace came out beautiful! I'm a lover of lace!
Thank you so much for this video that I found searching the internet for any instructions how to use my lace carriage on the Brother KH830.The manuel that came with the machine didn't say with rows I should do with the lace carriage or the kntting carriage. So also for the Brother machine this is really helpfull. Now for the first time I have managed to knit beautiful lace.I love it!Thanks again.
You can do a Google search and an Ebay search for 24 stitch punch cards and pattern books. Blank cards are always sold on Ebay also. Once you get a pattern book, you'll have so many patterns!
